Harry Potter And The Children Of The Future:

In Harry’s 7th year, children from the future suddenly appear at Hogwarts and one of them claims to be Harry’s son. Problem is, Harry isn’t the only father. Draco and Harry struggle to come to terms with their future relationship as their son and his friends get up to more mischief that the marauders.

The emotional development in this fic is very realistic, aided by some great writing, but I would have preferred more focus on canon characters than OCs (after all, isn’t that half the reason we read fanfiction?).

The handcuffs part of S.S. Guns & Handcuffs. So Draco accidentally brews a love potion and Harry’s taking a midnight walk at just the wrong moment. Reality blurs for both of them as they endevour to counteract the potion before anyone finds out. This was a really enjoyable fic with humour, angst, magic, romance and confusion..

When Harry Potter bonds with his soulmate (spoiler alert: it’s Draco Malfoy) his as-yet-unknown Hecatemus powers come out. Hecatema are connected with the world around them - they can sense human emotions and magical energy and most importantly their partners. Harry and Draco have to overcome a lot.

Revolving around Gangster!Harry and PartnerInCrime!(and sluty to boot)Draco half a decade after they were forced to leave Hogwarts when caught in bed together. Harry’s now one of the biggest crime bosses of London but he’s very confused and vulnerable when he gets dragged back into the maginal world and struggles to make peace with everyone who betrayed him all those years ago.

Seamus Is Seamus And You Are Yourself:

Harry goes through some… er, changes before Sixth Year. Everyone, including Draco Malfoy, sits up and takes notice.

And by ‘changes’ the author means he gets super super smoking hot. Everybody wants a piece of him; all the girls, all the boys, even the teachers and especially Seamus Finnigan. Draco Malfoy feels the need to protect Harry’s innocence.

This is so funny. At times I cackled out loud. It’s sort of unbelievable how extreme this whole ‘everyone wants Harry’ thing gets but it’s so funny it totally works.

I did enjoy this fic, it really revolves around Draco coping with his blindness and Harry trying to help him even if he isn’t wanted (although he is perhaps needed). Not exactly what I look for in a fic but it was a great read.

Draco knows that happily ever after is for fairy tales. When someone threatens to expose his wartime past, he risks his life to protect his secrets, but learns he’s not the only one with something to hide.

So something dodgy’s going on in the settlement of the Malfoy inheritance. Snape (whom I absolutely adore in this world) and Hermione team up, Harry gets some information of his own and Draco’s caught between a rock and a hard place.

For me it’s a bit too mysterious and there isn’t enough magic, although it is very well written and a satisfying accompaniment to ATBT.

A Thousand Beautiful Things:

Draco Malfoy struggles with changed fortunes, shifted alliances, an ugly war, and an unusual spell, with the help of a concerned professor, an insightful house-elf, and an unexpected Gryffindor friend.

It’s a very hard story to tag because it literally has everything. It (chronologically) begins when Draco decides to become a spy for the Order after being shocked by the cruelness of his father and undergoes intense training with Snape. Within the first three chapters of nine the war is over and everyone’s licking their wounds, including two of the story’s main characters Dean and Seamus. The main plot revolves around Draco taking on a vow of silence, and not for the reasons the Wizarding World believe.

There’s something for everyone but not everything for someone, I particularly liked chapters two and seven.

Transfigurations:

Five years after Voldemort’s defeat, Harry returns to England to help re-open Hogwarts but he and the other professors have a bigger job on their hands than first anticipated.

This is one of the most highly rec’d Drarry fics ever, it’s terribly well written and characterised and there’s a lot of complex magic introduced around sigils. I just felt like the main plot line didn’t feel like grounds for a whole novel as it’s basically just cleaning up after You-Know-Who and Lucius. Worth a read but not an all time fave for myself. Plus it needs more sex :)

One of my first long drarry fics. It’s an alternative to deathly hallows and is just incredible in mass; not the traditional magical world you know and love, this guides through Durmstrang and its sister school Magisch Schön, rebuilding Godric’s Hollow and some crazy horcrux-searching. The beginning drags a lot, there’s a good 40k words before we even meet Draco, taken up by Ginny, and then there’s some weird destiny symbolic crap but it eventually develops into pure fantasy.

Beneath You:

Draco had no idea that the repercussions of stealing Potter’s journal and shoving it down the back of his trousers would be so extreme. Featuring nefarious plots, the mating rituals of Slytherins, double-crossing spells.

This fic has everything you’d ever want. It’s romantic and realistic and is very magical. Everything goes kind of mental near the end.

ALSO: Since this is one of my favourites ever and I’ve just got a kindle I’m converting a lot to .mobi formats, the online copy of this has a lot of missing apostrophes/quotes so here’s a nice e-book version
